Thank you to one of our parents who wrote to the City Wardens. Here is Scott McCall’s, (Senior City Warden) response –
Thank you for your email highlighting concerns with parking around Glashieburn Primary School. Illegal, dangerous and obstructive parking around Schools remains a ongoing challenge for the City Wardens Service to manage. All Aberdeen Primary Schools feature on the Wardens daily briefing to ensure as often as resources allow Schools are given priority coverage at peak times. Complaints about parking around Glashieburn School is a long standing issue and one both the City Wardens and School Staff have tried address on multiple occasions. Unfortunately due to the number of Schools in Aberdeen City Wardens would not be able to have a daily presence at Glashieburn, but I will create a specific task to ensure enhanced coverage is provided over the coming weeks. We will continue to work with School Staff, Partner Services and Parents in an attempt to address these issues.
Further to this I have just spoken with Edna Wilson at Glashieburn School to discuss your concerns. She is aware the parking issues and will be discussing this with the head teacher today. We discussed promoting this issue to all parents through means such as Social Media which Edna will take forward as part of the Schools response. I have also included Police Scotland in this reply to highlight your concerns to Inspector Gary Spark and the Danestone Community Policing Team.
Encouraging parents to take personal responsibility when parking up is and will continue. I have also included Police Scotland in this reply to highlight your concerns to Inspector Gary Spark and the Danestone Community Policing Team.
Encouraging parents to take personal responsibility when parking up is and will continue to be an ongoing challenge. We will continue to do all we can to educate and enforce where required and would like to thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.
