This is the first edition of Parent Update – a new look monthly newsletter for all parent councils and their parents. The aim is to keep you informed about issues relating to parent council business, training, current education stories and policies relating to children and their parents.
Parent Council Business
Public Liability Insurance
All parent councils and PTA’s in Aberdeen city are now covered by a City Wide Policy provided by Zurich Insurance. Aberdeen City Parent Forum has arranged this on your behalf and a copy for your records will be sent to your school.
Annual PC Allowance
The deadline for submitting parent council accounts was the 30th June 15. Please submit your accounts as soon as possible or get in touch if you need support. The allocation can be used in many ways to support you in your role and function as a parent council.
Does your PC have a success story or project to share? What did you learn in the process? Did you make some good contacts on the way? What would you do differently?My aim is develop more dialogue between parent councils so parents can learn from each other. Please share your good news stories. Any information or photos you want to share about how you have enhanced the life of the school, please let me know and I can share with others.

Termly Parent Council meetings hosted by Education & Children’s Services Venue and time for all three meetings will be at Cafe Coast 7.15 pm – 9.00 pm
